LONG-TERM SAVINGS
Although compact fluorescent lamps are more expensive initially, they
mean savings for the customer as well as the environment in the long run.
A compact fluorescent will last an average of 10-13 times longer than a
standard bulb and use 1/4 the energy. Compact fluorescents need to be
changed only once for every 13 times you need to change an
incandescent bulb. This is an added convenience when bulbs are in
hard-to-reach places. remember that each tube is HHW when its ready to
throw away. Send it to the Household Hazardous waste facility. Each
fluorescent tube is coated on the inside with Mercury a deadly metal that
causes nerve destruction.

SAVING
ON YOUR WATER HEATING BILLS
Your water heater works around the clock, keeping tens of
gallons of water at a constant hot temperature waiting for those few times
a day when it will be needed. Demand or tankless water heaters heat only
the hot water you are ready to use, as you use it. You save money and
energy, and never run out of hot water. On demand hot water units can save you up to
76% on your home hot water heating costs. |
| POLYURETHANE EXPANDING FOAMS and Insulation |
INSULATE AGAINST HEAT LOSS
Polyurethane expanding foams are used in new construction and
remodeling situations to insulate against heat loss. They are the best
product to use around skylights, inside and outside of electrical outlets,
between door or window and house frame, around pipe penetrations and
around base plates. As you use this product, you will discover more and
more applications.
Insulation
for walls and ceilings can also be improved in most homes. The proper
R-factor is not met in most cases.

| THERMOSTATS |
EFFICIENT HEATING PAYS FOR ITSELF
Modifications to the heating system can result in fuel savings that will
help pay for more remodeling work; in many cases an upgrade will give you
the extra heating capacity you need to heat any space that you add. In
addition to several more technical fine tunings, two simple measures to
take are adding a good set-back thermostat, and applying mastic to all
duct joints.
Electronic
thermostats can also create great savings by reducing the heat during the
times when your not home or asleep.
