Recycling our treasures.
Today it is much easier than ever before to recycle in so many
ways.
Some of the ways recycling can benefit you or your neighbors
is through flea markets, garage, and yard sales. Products that no longer have
any use to you, could give comfort at affordable prices to someone else who has
a need for these unwanted items. Re-use is one of the best ways to recycle and
has become a popular past time and hobby for many Americans going yard
sailing.
Most communities now have some type of recycling program for
bottles and cans, but these programs are usually poorly designed and managed.
One instance that kept happening to me was that someone kept
tossing there can or bottle in with my recycle bin to be picked up. Since
everything required separation, this mixed container was dumped into my trash
container by the recycling driver since he wasn't going to or allowed to sort a
couple of items out. Green bottles were also banned due to a lack of demand for
that particular item. We have to overcome these short comings and take it upon
ourselves to step up regulations and refining such systems that leave little or
no flexibility for thing of this nature. If it comes down to it take your
recycling out to the recycle yard yourself or find a place that will accept
these items.
At Global Impact we are trying to get a recycling program set
up at grocery chains with incentives to shop at these facilities. Allowing a more
efficient use of peoples time and energy since they need to shop and they could
use canvas bags for their recycling and again re-use them for their groceries
after their drop off for bottles and cans. We are also compiling a list of local
recycling stations across the country.
There are many ways we could approach the problems within the
practice of recycling and its industry, but the one solution to recycling is you
and the need for everybody to promote this practice to all friends and
family.
